Brian Thompson is a seasoned design engineer with a passion for electronics and over 30 years of experience in the audio industry. Educated at EDC in Paris, France, he majored in Marketing and Merchandising at this renowned business school, known for its training in international commerce, accounting, and business law. His fascination with electronics led him to acquire specialized qualifications through training and apprenticeship, honing his expertise in audio design engineering.
Since returning to the US in 1998, Brian has worked with notable entities such as Digitear and T.C Electronic in Westlake Village, CA, where he served as Service Manager for nearly 20 years. In this role, he handled factory servicing, customer support, and engineer training at prestigious studios like Warner Bros, Disney, Universal Studios, and Skywalker Sound.
Brian has also consulted for legendary musician Joe Walsh (Eagles) on various projects, including the design of Walsh's home recording studio and radio station in Beverly Hills. His expertise extended to a three-year consultancy with DYNAUDIO ACOUSTICS, where he tested new products and suggested improvements to enhance quality and presentation.
In addition to his consulting work, Brian has shared his knowledge through educational talks at various music schools, focusing on the use of technology for live recording. He has provided support and consulting services to many Los Angeles sound producers throughout his career. Today, Brian devotes part of his time to his service company, T&R Electronics, based in Parks, AZ, where he continues to contribute to the field of audio engineering with his extensive experience and dedication to innovation.
